Swiss UMEF University
Created in April 1984, SWISS UMEF UNIVERSITY, previously known as the Institut Supérieur de Gestion et de Communication (ISGC), is a private university situated in the very heart of Geneva, close to most of the major international organisations and many of the major banks. It has been steadily evolving for 30 years, offering higher education in the fields of management, finance, marketing and communications. Their programmes are in strict compliance with the Bologna Treaty’s goal of providing responses to issues such as public responsibility for higher education and research, higher education governance, the social dimension of higher education and research and the values and roles of higher education and research in modern, globalised and increasingly complex societies with the most demanding requirements. SWISS UMEF UNIVERSITY offers a modern education of excellent quality that combines both theory and practice with programmes that promote exchanges between their institution and other universities in Europe and beyond. The students work in a multicultural context, making their time with us extremely rewarding and where they encourage an openness of thought and expression. SWISS UMEF UNIVERSITY welcomes students of all nationalities from all backgrounds.
By choosing SWISS UMEF UNIVERSITY, you have just crossed a new hurdle for two main reasons. Geneva is ranked among the three most expensive cities in the world. Account has been taken of the appreciation of the Swiss franc and items such as clothing, rents, transportation, recreation, public services, private schools, etc to arrive at such a conclusion.
UMEF therefore insists that students carry out at least one internship per year (sometimes more, depending on the course). These work placements allow the student to see at first hand the realities of the world of business. It is accepted practice that an internship is a requirement of any good and complete education in today’s world.
Geneva is among the ten cities in the world with the best quality of life. It is situated at the shores of Lake Leman, stretches along both banks of the Rhône and is framed by the Saleve and the Jura mountains. The city is rich in art, history, natural and architectural beauty.
